What You Need to Know About a Non-Surgical Brow Lift

We all have to deal with the effects of ageing at some point or another. Fortunately, there are a number of non-surgical procedures available to treat sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, helping restore what’s been lost with age.

Non-surgical brow lifts have grown in popularity in recent years because they’re non-invasive and don’t require any downtime. The results are also so subtle that it’s almost impossible to notice that you’ve had anything done.

How ageing affects our faces

As we age, we lose a lot of the fatty tissue in our faces, which is when lines, grooves and wrinkles become more prominent. You may even notice that your eyelids start to droop too.

Before Botox and fillers were available, the only way to give your brow and forehead a more youthful appearance was to undergo surgery. Even though a brow lift can now be performed via keyhole surgery, it’s still costly and requires a significant amount of downtime.

Today, fillers and Botox are the preferred choice.

What to expect from a non-surgical brow lift

Non-surgical brow lifts at Southport beauty clinic, London Cosmetics, are usually performed in two stages.

Stage 1: Botox

In order to relieve the pressure caused by the frown muscles in your forehead, Botox, which contains a processed protein, is used to relax the muscles and inhibit their movement.

Stage 2: Fillers

Once the muscles have been relaxed, fillers that contain hyaluronic acid will be used to add structure to the area and elevate the brow, restoring any volume that’s been lost with age.

At the end of your treatment, you will be left with a natural, more youthful-looking brow and forehead.

Non-surgical brow lift FAQs

Will the procedure hurt?

Any discomfort experienced during your treatment will be minor but ice or a topical anaesthetic can be applied to the forehead area if preferred. It should be noted though that the injections are administered so quickly that they’ll be over before you know it. All that you need to do is sit back, relax and look forward to your new brow.

What can I expect after the procedure?

Since the procedure is minimally invasive, you can return to work, exercise and any other daily activities directly after your appointment.

Are there any side effects that I should be aware of?

The only side effect that could occur is some mild bruising but this will subside within a day and can easily be covered with makeup, meaning you can continue with your day as normal.

How long will my brow lift results last?

Your results are very dependent on the type of filler that is used but most fillers will last anything between 6 and 24 months. If fillers and Botox are used in the active areas of the face such as the mouth or lips, they tend to dissolve a lot faster. Less-active areas such as the cheeks or temples will usually hold fillers for longer.
